RTPI gives evidence to CLG Select Committee

RickatCLGSConNPPFRichard Blyth, Head of Policy, Practice and Research at the Royal Town Planning Institute gave evidence on the National Planning Policy Framework to the Communities and Select Committee  yesterday.

Sitting alongside representatives from RICS and the LGA, Richard Blyth answered questions from Committee members on the Duty to Cooperate, whether there should be a statutory requirement for a local plan, the effectiveness of the Brownfield and town centre first policies, whether the NPPF adequately addresses infrastructure, section 106, and whether a National Spatial Plan is needed, climate change and wind farms, whether decisions after the NPPF are sustainable in the long-term, the status and value of planning within Local Authorities, and third party statutory consultees.
