Homes for Britain

02 July 2014

Homes for Britain is a united voice for housing. It brings together the Homes For Britainwhole sector to put housing at the heart of the debate at the next General Election. As one of the core partners the RTPI co-organised the Homes for Britain briefing and reception which took place on 1st July at the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. The aim of the event was to put the Homes for Britain message ‘End the Housing Crisis Within a Generation’ in the public eye, and to get feedback from leaders within the housing sector on how the campaign can be as effective as possible.

There was an impressive range of organisations in attendance – all the major national charities, trade bodies and umbrella organisations from across the housing sector.

The RTPI’s CEO Trudi Elliott facilitated the creative ideas section of the programme, encouraging the audience to share their thoughts on how Homes for Britain can ensure that housing is top of the political agenda in the run up to the 2015 general election. It was striking how keen people were not only to come up with ideas but also to offer their active support for making them happen

Homes for Britain will be staging a rally in Central Hall, Westminster on 17th March 2015 and the RTPI is encouraging members to get involved.
