Sunand Prasad, President of the Royal Institute of British Architects has been awarded Honorary Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is a dynamic organisation leading the way in the design and creation of places that work now and in the future. Honorary Membership of the Institute recognises distinguished contributions to planning and the capacity to contribute to its future development and is by invitation of the President and Trustees.
Sunand Prasad, President, RIBA and Senior Partner, Penoyre and Prasad LLP said:
\"I am very honoured to be asked to accept election as Hon MRTPI and delighted to accept. I hope to be able to make some small contribution to the work of the Royal Town Planning Institute, and of course to continue through the RIBA to take every opportunity for creative collaboration.\"

Sunand Prasad will be presented with his Honorary Membership of the RTPI at an evening reception on Thursday 18th June at the RTPI Planning Convention 2009. The event will take place at the QE II Centre, Westminster, London from the 17th – 19th June 2009, bringing together leading national and international commentators and experts with over 600 delegates from all over the UK and abroad.
