The RTPI is one of the largest professional institutes for planners worldwide with approximately 23,000 members. The Institute promotes spatial planning and develops and shapes policy affecting the built environment while working to raise professional standards and supporting its members through continuous education, training and development. 

Planning Aid England, part of the RTPI, provides free, independent and professional planning advice to individuals and communities who can’t afford to pay professional fees.
