Mick was Regional Chairman in 2011. Prior to that he helped rejuvenate the Low Cost CPD Programme (now the Yorkshire Practice Seminars brand).
He runs his own sole practice, MJM Planning as well as being an Associate of the Rural Development Network and the Planning Cooperative (a public sector-orientated consultancy delivering training, research and planning advice to local government, and bodies such as Natural England, English Heritage, the Environment Agency, the Office for Nuclear Regulation and the Homes and Communities Agency).
He migrated to the private sector after 15 years in local government planning (in Northern England and Scotland) after a sabbatical, teaching urban planning in New Zealand. He still ‘keeps his hand in’ through guest lecturing at the Leeds Planning School and the School of Planning and Real Estate at the University of Reading.
