Bhupinder Dev

Bhupinder DevBhupinder is a Chartered Town Planner and Development Plans Team Leader at Bradford City Council. Leeds born and bred, Bhupinder studied Town & Country Planning at the University of Manchester and Urban Design at Leeds Metropolitan University. He is leading the programme of work on Infrastructure Planning, CIL, Waste Management DPD, Bradford City Centre Area Action Plan and the Development Plan for Shipley & Canal Road Corridor. He has experience of working on regeneration schemes in the north of England through previous employment with WYG and Gillespies.

Bhupinder a member of the Design Council-CABE affiliated Integreat Plus Yorkshire & Humber Design Review Panel. He is immediate past Honorary Secretary of RTPI Yorkshire, and is one of the founding members of YORnet (the network for young built environment professionals in Yorkshire). He has contributed to a book by the Royal Institute of British Architects, Leeds City Council and Martin Wainwright (former Northern Editor, The Guardian newspaper) called "Leeds - Shaping the City" (2009) by writing a piece on his personal future vision for his home city of Leeds.

Bhupinder is a volunteer member of Roundhay Planning Forum and has worked with Leeds City Council in adopting the first ward wide Neighbourhood Design Statement covering the historic north Leeds suburb of Roundhay. He is a former school governor and immediate past Vice Chair of the Board of Governors at Moor Allerton Hall Primary School. He is currently the Secretary of the voluntary group Friends of Allerton Grange Fields who work with Parks & Countryside Rangers at Leeds City Council to manage a 2.5ha neighbourhood park located in the heart of north Leeds. He is also a committee member of the Leeds Parks & Greenspaces Forum and Community Ambassador for North East Inner Leeds.

Bhupinder received the "RTPI Presidents' 2009 Tommorow's Leaders Award" in recognition of his current standing in the profession and his potential leadership qualities and standing in the field of town and country planning in the future.

Bhupinder is the Chair of the RTPI Yorkshire Communications Group and the Policy Advisor.
