RTPI West Midlands Planning Summit 2017

Embracing Future Influences - The Changing World of Planning

  • Thursday 30 November 2017
  • 09.30 - 16.30
  • The Repertory Theatre, Birmingham

The programme for the 2017 RTPI West Midlands Planning Summit is now finalised and as with last year it promises to be an interesting and stimulating event.

Following on from 2016 the purpose of the Planning Summit is to allow time out of the normal day job to consider the future of planning and in particular the issues which are likely to influence the way the system looks and operates.

It is an opportunity to hear from speakers from a variety of backgrounds and with many different interests who have been asked to do a bit of crystal ball gazing and sketch out a vision of the future and what that will mean for planning practitioners and wider society.

  • How will technology affect lifestyles?
  • What are the implications of people living longer and healthier?
  • What does a smart city look like?
  • How will changing building techniques translate in to design?

Take a look at the programme and if it resonates, whets your appetite and captures your imagination - then please make a booking below! Download programme

Our keynote speaker at this full day conference is Dr Rick Robinson, Director of Technology at Amey.

The regional magazine Tripwire, which provides news from the region, has been revamped in 2017.  Read the Summer 2017 issue here . This issue was produced by guest editor Paul Thompson.  We are looking for more guest editors.  Please email if you are interested.
