The RTPI SW is pleased to announce the results of the 2014 RTPI SW "Awards for Planning Excellence". In order to be considered for an AWARD or COMMENDATION in the two RTPI SW categories of "Schemes on the Ground" or "Other Planning Work", a submission must be assessed as an example of "Planning Excellence in the South West".

Congratulations to Jacqueline Houslander, Plymouth City Council

The RTPI SW is pleased to announce that the winner of the RTPI SW Planning Leaders Award 2012 goes to Jacqueline Houslander, Urban Planning Coordinator at Plymouth City Council.

The Institute has set up the Awards to celebrate the success of planners who are leading the profession in creating great places to live and work.  The success of the professionJac Houslander Planning Leaders Award 2012 is due to the hard work, dedication and professionalism of its members.  RTPI President, Colin Haylock, has launched the Awards to celebrate members who are leading and inspiring the profession, creating the places of tomorrow.  Jacqueline received her Award from Colin at the RTPI SW Annual Dinner on Friday 6th July.

 

Congratulations to North Somerset Council - Award winners 2011

The RTPI SW is pleased to announce that the Weston Super Mare Seafront Enhancement scheme, submitted by North Somerset Council, is the winner of the"Schemes on the Ground" categoryand overall winner of the Philip Barclay Cup and Commemorative Plaque for the RTPI SW Planning Achievement Awards 2011 (kindly sponsored by WYG Planning & Design). The Award Ceremony took place at the Winter Gardens, Weston Super Mare on Thursday 9th February 2012.

The category "Other Planning Work" was jointly won by Teignbridge District Council for their submission "Teignbridge Learning and Planning Together" and the "Dorset Coast Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment" submitted by LDA Design in association with the Dorset Coast Forum.

RESULTS OF THE RTPI SW PLANNING ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS 2010

The RTPI SW is pleased to announce the overall winner of the RTPI SW Planning Achievement Awards 2010 as Bournemouth Borough Council for its Boscombe Spa Village Regeneration Scheme, which has transformed the Boscombe sea front. The high quality of the completed work included the refurbishment of the Overstrand building and the Grade II listed Boscombe pier, as well as a major new housing development on a key cliff-side site and refurbishment of the nearby Boscombe Chine Gardens.

Presentation of these and other 'commendation' awards in this annual competition to mark and  celebrate outstanding work took place on Monday 24 January 2011 in the Urban Reef Restaurant, the Overstrand, Boscombe.
