Communications and Events Committee

The Communications, Events and Lifelong Learning Sub-Committee is to oversee the Communications Strategy, to advise on events, lifelong learning and training needs in Scotland and on internal communication issues for members in Scotland.

The subcommittee will have the following specific remit:

• To advise and assist the SECs Officers Group and the RTPI National Director on implementation of the RTPI in Scotlands communications strategy including advising on the design and promotion of events, publications and research; media relations, public relations and joint communications with partner organisations; and communications with members in Scotland.
• To advise and assist the SECs Officer Group and the RTPI National Director on the development of and arrangements for the RTPI in Scotlands programme of annual events.
• To advise and assist the SECs Officer Group and the RTPI National Director on the topics to be considered by the Scottish Planner.
• To advise and assist the SECs Officers Group and the RTPI National Director on planning education and lifelong learning in Scotland in liaison with the RTPIs Education and Lifelong Learning Committee and the Scottish Planning Education Forum; and to provide input and advice for training and courses in which the RTPI in Scotland is involved.
