RTPI Scotland has seven regional Chapters across Scotland. These are important in maintaining local links with and between members through:
- providing free or low cost CPD activities
- providing opportunities to discuss planning policy and practice
- supporting local initiatives such as design review panels or awards
Each Chapter has an organising committee and a representative on RTPI Scotlands Executive Committee.
The Chapters are:
- Central Scotland, covering Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling council areas
- Dumfries and Galloway, covering Dumfries and Galloway council areas
- East of Scotland, covering Angus, Dundee and Perth and Kinross council areas
- Edinburgh, Lothian, Borders and Fife, covering Scottish Borders, City of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Fife, Midlothian and West Lothian council areas
- Grampian, covering Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray council areas
- Highlands and Island, covering Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Highland, Orkney Islands, and Shetland Islands council areas
- West of Scotland, covering Argyll and Bute, East Ayrshire, East Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire, Glasgow, Inverclyde, North Ayrshire, North Lanarkshire, South Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire, Renfrewshire and West Dunbartonshire council areas
