Young Planners in the North East

The Young Planners' representative in the North East is Emma Walker.

The North East Young Planners is a sub-group of the Young Planners' Network, attached to the North East Region, with the aim to provide a platform for young planners to share ideas and friendship.

Student Lorna Heslop has just been appointed as Chair of the North East Young Planners Group. Heslop is looking forward to the challenge. "In my role as chair, I wish to maximise the creation of opportunities presented through the group, by organising regular events and meetings," she says. "By making the group easily accessible to fellow students and young professionals, I look forward to establishing professional networks that will improve young planners' job prospects and reduce graduate unemployment." About Us

The group is run voluntarily by a steering group of young planners for the benefit of young planners. We are always on the look out for ideas and help so if you'd like to give us a hand, please get in touch with the Region.

The steering group is a very open group with no set positions; we meet at an office on the Quayside then go off for a drink afterwards - so please do come along.

All young planners, whether student or working are welcome to our events. You don't even need to be 'young' - just 'young' at heart'.

We encourage everyone to get involved with our activities. Just come along to one of our events or contact the Region to be put on the mailing list.

The group is organising a wide variety of social and educational events including study tours, pub get-togethers and seminars! So come along, get involved, learn something and have fun!
