Sean Peacock

Sean PeacockI am currently a third year Town Planning student at Newcastle
University. Amongst other things, I am in
the process of writing my dissertation on the role of modernist architecture
within a contemporary urban landscape.

I was proud to have been elected to the North East’s Regional
Activities and Policy Committee, where I am able to provide invaluable student
input into the workings of the RTPI. I am an active member of the North East
Young Planners in my role as Secretary for the board, helping to recruit new
members and organise socials such as the Summer Barbecue. I also attend the
Member and Public Relations Committee, where I contribute to decisions about
publicity material and events.

As a student representative for my course, I provide a vital link
between academic staff and my peers through student-led meetings, where I have
influenced changes to the degree programme, assessment methods and campus
facilities.

After university, I hope to gain some experience in an urban
design role, where my primary interests lie.
