Chris walks the tightrope of planning as the Planning Services Manager at Hartlepool Borough Council and is responsible for Planning Policy, Development Management, Planning Enforcement, Landscape Planning and Conservation. Since joining Hartlepool in 2001 she has risen in the ranks from Planning Officer in Policy, to Planning Officer in Development Control, to Senior, to Principal, then to DC Manager and now to overall Planning Services Manager, quite an achievement in 11 years. Chris is now planning to take over the world, which she thinks could be accomplished by 2025!
Chris has been involved in all aspects of planning and enjoys the challenges it brings.
Whilst not being actively involved with the RTPI previously Chris enjoyed the emails sent from the RTPI referring to her as a ‘young planner’ however when these ceased in 2012 Chris thought the best way to try and raise the age limit would be to infiltrate the RTPI, hence she joined the RAPC.
Chris is married (to another Chris), with two children, and studied Town Planning at Newcastle University and dislikes being called Christine immensely.
