RTPI Planning Leaders Award

Are you a leader who is making a difference in planning?

The RTPI is celebrating the success of planners who are leading the profession in creating great places to live and work. The success of our profession is due to the hard work, dedication and professionalism of our members. RTPI President Colin Haylock has launched the Planning Leaders Awards to celebrate members who are leading and inspiring the profession, creating the places of tomorrow.

Who are the awards for?

The awards are open to any RTPI member who can demonstrate outstanding leadership in the field of planning. You could be new to the profession and making your mark with a great project, or maybe you are a successful manager leading a planning team. We want to celebrate leadership in all its different forms and we are keen to receive nominations from planners at different stages in their careers.

There will be one award winner in each RTPI Region or Nation.

How are the winners selected?

Members are asked to nominate candidates by Region and Nation; each candidate will fill in a nomination form setting out their achievements. The nominations will then be reviewed by a judging panel and a winner selected.

The judging panel

The judging panel will be made up of General Assembly members, Regions and Nations Panel representatives and past presidents.

What happens if you win?

You will be presented with a framed certificate by the RTPI President, Colin Haylock, as part of his presidential tour of the North East Region of the United Kingdom. Our preference is that the presentation should take place at RTPI NEs Annual Awards Dinner, which will take place at Newcastles Centre for Life on Friday 5 October. You will also be nationally recognised in Planning Magazine and in your Region and Nation.

How do I enter?

All you need to do is complete the nomination form and send it through to Charles Veal: charles.veal@rtpi.org.uk by 31 July 2012.
