NW Cambridge Development

2016 NW Cambridge

"North West Cambridge Development" entered by AECOM and the University of Cambridge

The North West Cambridge Development (NWCD) represents the largest plans for expansion in the University's 800 Year history and includes 3,000 new homes, including affordable housing for University staff and market housing, as well as University research and teaching facilities, community facilities and public open space on the 150ha site. The proposals are intended to meet the University's development needs for the next 20 years.

The scheme sets a new benchmark in terms of sustainability reaching Code Level 5 and BREEAM excellent across the entire site.

The community have been engaged from day one through extensive and collaborative consultation, reflected in their praise and support for the scheme. Early delivery of state of the art community facilities has embedded this site into the local area.
