2014 Regional Planning Achievement Award

2014 Award Winners

Congratulations to everyone who entered the RTPI East of England 2014 Regional Planning Achievement Awards. The winning entries were announced at our Gala Dinner and Award Presentation Evening on Friday 3 October 2014.

The winning entry was "The Spinney" entered by Peterborough City Council and Stewart Milne Group. Representatives collected the Regional Award trophy and certificate (photos below), presented by Trudi Elliott CBE (RTPI Chief Executive) and Paul Maison (RTPI Regional Chair 2014)

2nd place was awarded to Terence O'Rourke for "Trumpington Meadows, Cambridge", an urban extension of up to 1,200 houses and apartments. Representatives collected the certificate, presented by Paul Maison

3rd place was awarded to Southend-on-Sea Borough Council for "The Forum, Southend-on-Sea", a new building creating an educational and cultural hub. The certificate was presented to Peter Geraghty of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council by Paul Maison

Our thanks to all those who attended the Dinner. A charity raffle held during the evening raised over £470 for Cancer Research UK.



Congratulations to our Regional Treasurer, Steve Bateman, for being awarded an RTPI Outstanding Service Award. The RTPI have recognised Steve's dedication and commitment to the RTPI East of England over many years and particularly in his voluntary role of Regional Treasurer. He was presented with his Award by ex President, Richard Summers, during our AGM on 22 May 2014.
