RTPI East of England

Meet Peter Warner, RTPI East of England Chair for 2013.

See our blog for quick snippets of information and photos.

Regional Events

We organise affordable seminars and events for our members in the East of England for professional development. Events are listed on the RTPI Events Calendar or on this page under "Events". A new block discount form was published in April, with a saving of up to 20% possible on most of our Regional events in 2013. The easiest way to book places in 2013 is by using the emailable discount form and emailing it to the Regional Co-ordinator, Tina Jessup .

Regional Awards

The closing date for the 2013 Regional Award has now passed and the judging process has begun. The winners will be announced during our Conference for Councillors on 4 July.

  • RTPI East of England Regional Chair 2013

Peter Warner is Chair of the RTPI East of England for 2013.

His theme is 'Support Your RTPI - It Is Here For You and Your Professional Development'.

Peter says: "My challenge, as Chair for 2013, is to get us all engaged (or re-engaged) with our own professional development and participation in the Institute - our Institute. I regard it as a great privilege to be nominated as Chair of the RTPI East of England. Over the years, I was given the incentive by my employer to be engaged with the Institute - provided I got the day job done. It has given me a freedom to work on projects that as a young planner I would never have dreamed of - but it happened for me and it can happen to all of us provided we have the vision to succeed whatever the difficulty or setbacks.

  • East of England Planning Achievement Award

The closing date has now passed for the 2013 Regional Planning Achievement Awards and the judging process has begun.

The winners will be announced at our Annual Conference for Councillors in July 2013.

  • Peter Geraghty - RTPI President in 2013

Peter Geraghty, our Regional Chair for 2011, has been inaugurated as RTPI President for 2013.

Peter is Group Manager for Development Control and Building Control at Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and is a member of the RTPI East of England Regional Management Board and Activities Committee.

We wish Peter well in his role as President.

  • Congratulations Essex County Council and RSPB!

Our congratulations to Essex County Council and the RSPB for winning the RTPI East of England Regional Planning Achievement Award for 2012.
