Welsh Government consultation on proposed amendments to Environmental Impact Assessment for town and country planning

The Welsh Government issued a consultation paper that sets out proposals to amend the Environmental Impact Assessment process for town and country planning. The changes will transpose Directive 2014/52/EU (known as the 2014 EIA Directive). Making specific provision in the EIA Regulations for consents under Section 141 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 - Action by Welsh Ministers in relation to a purchase notice.

Establishment of a Flood and Coastal Erosion Committee

The Environment Act 2016 granted Welsh Ministers the power to make regulations to abolish the current Flood Risk Management Wales (FRMW) Committee and establish a new Flood and Coastal Erosion Committee.

Expert Group on Housing an Ageing Population

Technical Advice Note 20 (TAN20)

The Welsh Government consulted on changes to Technical Advice Note 20 (TAN20) which supplements the Welsh Government's national planning policies for considering the welsh language when preparing Local Development Plans and in the determination of applications for planning permissions.  The aim of the review was to reflect the provisions of sections 11 and 31 of the Planning (Wales) act 2015 which come into force on the 4 January 2016.
