RTPI South West

RTPI South West promotes planning as a profession and builds links with other built environment professions and organisations throughout the South West. We offer members a programme of affordable seminars and events to assist with their continuing professional development requirements, and also publish a regular newsletter for member

More than 2,000 planners from central, regional and local government, private consultancies, the education sector and other organisations are members of RTPI South West. We welcome the views and opinions of all our members, and we are always looking for volunteers to help with running our programmes.

CONGRATULATIONS TO NORTH SOMERSET COUNCIL - AWARD WINNERS!

 The RTPI SW is pleased to announce that the Weston Super Mare Seafront Enhancement scheme, submitted by North Somerset Council,  is the winner of the "Schemes on the Ground" category and overall winner of the Philip Barclay Cup and Commemorative Plaque for the RTPI SW Planning Achievement Awards 2011 (kindly sponsored by WYG Planning & Design).   The Award Ceremony took place at the Winter Gardens, Weston Super Mare on Thursday 9th February 2012. 

Photo shows David Turner, Rachel Lewis and Cllr Ap Rees from North Somerset Council receiving their Award from Philip Barclay (who donated the Philip Barclay Cup back in 1992) and David Lowin, WYG Planning & Design.

The category "Other Planning Work" was jointly won by  Teignbridge District Council for their submission "Teignbridge Learning and Planning Together" and the "Dorset Coast Landscape and Seascape Character Assessment" submitted by LDA Design in association with the Dorset Coast Forum.

RTPI SW ANNUAL DINNER

The RTPI SW is pleased to announce that the RTPI SW Annual Dinner will be held on Friday 6th July 2012 at the Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton.  With after dinner speaker David Lock, Chairman of David Lock Associates Limited, come along and join colleagues and friends at this four course black tie dinner.  See attached flier for further information.
