RTPI South East promotes planning as a profession and builds links with other built environment professions and organisations throughout the South East. 

We offer members a programme of affordable seminars and events to assist with their continuing professional development requirements, and also publish a regular newsletter for members.  Over 3,000 planners from all sectors of government, private consultancies, the education sector and other organisations are members of RTPI South East. QUESTION TIME...

The School of Real Estate and Planning at University of Reading, with RTPI SE and Reading Real Estate Foundation, will host a Planners' Question Time session on 28th February 2012.  All students and RTPI SE members welcome!

Speakers include Steve Avery (Director of Park Services, New Forest NPA),  Kim Morris (Director, Barton Willmore), Gavin Parker - Chair (Professor of Planning, University of Reading), Suzanne Parkes (Senior Planning Policy Advisor, Mole Valley District Council), and John Romanski (Planning Advisor, Planning Aid England).  Join us for what will be a lively discussion, followed by an opportunity to network with alumni, students and guests.  The event will be held at the School of Real Estate and Planning, Henley Business School, Whiteknights Campus, Reading, from 18.15 onwards, with drinks afterwards.

COMING SHORTLY...

High Speed Two at the Judges Lodgings, Aylesbury - speakers at this event will include Tim Stansfeld who has walked the proposed route (National Opportunity meets Local Catastrophe), Chris Waite (the High Speed One experience), Marcus Rogers (Buckinghamshire County Council), Ralph Smyth (CPRE), and a speaker from High Speed Two.  This event is now confirmed on 26  March, so keep a space in your diary!

Localism - an update from John Baker of Baker Associates and Ian Dove QC will explain the legal position and explore the planning experience on strategic planning.  Jenny Nell from Winchester City Council will talk about neighbourhood planning.  This high value, high learning event will be held at the Guildhall, Winchester, on 16th April.

Brighton Rock - this annual lecture will be given on 10th May by Professor Nick Gallent, Head of Planning, Bartlett Planning School.  His subject will be Neighbourhood Planning.
