RTPI North West

RTPI North West promotes planning as a profession and builds links with other built environment professions and organisations throughout the North West. We offer members a programme of affordable seminars and events to assist with their continuing professional development requirements, and also publish a regular newsletter for members.

Over 2,200 planners from central, regional and local government, private consultancies, the education sector and other organisations are members of RTPI North West. We welcome the views and opinions of all our members, and we are always looking for volunteers to help with running our programmes.

North West REGION Annual GENERAL MEETING 2011

A sucessful AGM was held on Friday 2 December 2011 at the Cunard Buildng, on Liverpool waterfront.  The meeting received the Regional Management Board’s Annual Report for 2011 and there were elections for appointments to the Regional Management Board and Regional Activities Committee.  It was followed talks on Mann Island and Liverpool Waterfront then a walking tour of recent developments at the docks.

RTPI North West Golf Day 2011

Mottram%20HallDespite a poor weather forecast, the rain held off at Mottram Hall, Cheshire to allow another sucessful event.  Kieron Shenton was the overall winner with 38 points (narrowly beating Steve Harris), nearest the pin went to Graeme McGaffney and Peter Blair took prize for longest drive.

Presidents Visit & TOMORROW'S Leaders Award 2010/2011

Following a regional vote, Annesha Jain of Turley Associates has won the ‘RTPI 2010/11 President's North West Tomorrow's Leaders' Award’. The Award will be formally presented during the 2011 RTPI Presidents Visit on 24th March, in Liverpool.

The Award aims to spotlight and celebrate the achievements of planners in the Region who have shown outstanding leadership qualities or who have already demonstrated the potential for such leadership. The Regional Awards Task Group were particularly impressed with her enthusiasm with the North West Young Planner's, including the Steering Group, and her demonstrated commitment overall to promoting the planning profession.

 Five-a-Side Football Tournament 2011

NW Five A Side FootballThe annual Five-a-Side Football Tournament took place on the 21st May 2011 in Bolton, kindly sponsored by WYG.  10 teams competed and made it a fun, successful day.  The winners were Curtins Consulting.  TEP were runners up.  The Best player was Vinnie Haughton (Curtins) and Best Keeper - Mike Smith (Watermans).
