RTPI North East

New Chair for RTPI North East

Joe Ridgeon is the 2012 Chair of RTPI NE, having been elected at the Annual Meeting in December 2011. Joe, a Planning Consultant at the Wolsingham office of George F White LLP, completed his Masters Degree in Town Planning at Newcastle University in 2007.

At the Annual Meeting Joe introduced himself as the only person to have used a Young Person’s Rail Card to attend the recent meeting of incoming Regional Chairs with the RTPI President. He also gave as his themes for 2012, Rural Planning, Working with Other Professions, the Olympics, and Leading the Charge of planners explaining to all who will listen that planning is part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Your Region Needs You!

The NE has always benefited from a strong core member base of people who volunteer their time and expertise to assist in the provision of a huge range of events and services. This year like many other organisations we are struggling to find support. WE need you to think about all the events, awards, socials, football, news journals and notices you receive from your Region – and to consider giving us a hand. It doesn’t have to be an onerous task - just a little help here and there. Please give me a call at the RTPI Office or email northeast@rtpi.org.uk. While we would be happy to receive offers of help from anyone, we know that we particularly need new volunteers from outside the Tyne and Wear area.  The Regions Operations Manual will provide you with an insite to what to expect.
