Planning Aid England supports communities and individuals.
Advice helpline
The Planning Aid England Advice Line offers up to fifteen minutes of free and objective planning advice to all callers. Our team of professionally qualified Planning Advisors are happy to answer enquiries on any planning related issues in England.
Advice Line operation 2013
We're developing a new web resource, Planning Aid: Direct, to enhance our advice service. Planning Aid: Direct will help you get answers to planning queries and access planning advice. We're currently working to get it up and running.
As a result of this work, our current Advice Line service will be restricted. We will endeavour to respond to your query during this period but you may need to leave a message on our answerphone rather than speaking to someone immediately, and there may be a short delay in our response time.
Please note that you can also seek advice from your local planning authority and from these webpages.

Further assistance
If an enquiry cannot be fully dealt with within the initial 15 minutes, the caller may qualify for further assistance. Eligible cases are passed to one of our professionally qualified volunteers, who will provide their services free of charge to the individual or group unable to afford professional fees.
For details of which cases qualify for assistance beyond the initial 15 minutes, please see the eligibility criteria below.

Neighbourhood Planning
Through our funding from the Department for Communities and Local Government we are actively working with community groups who are engaged in the Neighbourhood Planning process. Our focus is on the Neighbourhood Planning Front Runners (over 200 groups), as well as communities in areas of deprivation.
