We understand that the planning system can be confusing at times and aim to explain it in a way that people can understand. We offer a number of tools to help:
Our collection of briefing notes and case studies break down complicated planning issues into reader-friendly documents.
Our jargon buster provides easy to understand definitions and explanations of common planning terms.
Our qualified Planning Advisors provide all callers with 15 minutes of free advice on any planning related issue. To speak to a Planning Advisor call 0330 123 9244 or email your enquiry to advice@planningaid.rtpi.org.uk.
Advice Line operation 2013
We're developing a new web resource, Planning Aid: Direct, to enhance our advice service. Planning Aid: Direct will help you get answers to planning queries and access planning advice. We're currently working to get it up and running.
As a result of this work, our current Advice Line service will be restricted. We will endeavour to respond to your query during this period but you may need to leave a message on our answerphone rather than speaking to someone immediately, and there may be a short delay in our response time.
Please note that you can also seek advice from your local planning authority and from these webpages.
We provide information about Neighbourhood Planning, an exciting tool that allows communities to shape development in their areas.
