The North East Young Planners is a sub-group of the Young Planners’ Network, attached to the North East Region, with the aim to provide a platform for young planners to share ideas and friendship.
About us
The group is run, voluntarily, by a steering group of young planners for the benefit of young planners. We are always on the look out for ideas and help so if you’d like to give us a hand, please get in touch with the Region.
The steering group is a very open group with no set positions; we meet at an office on the Quayside then go off for a drink afterwards - so please do come along.
All young planners, whether student or working, are welcome to our events. You don’t even need to be ‘young’ - just ‘young at heart’.
We encourage everyone to get involved with our activities. Just come along to one of our events or contact the Region to be put on the mailing list.
The group is organising a wide variety of social and educational events including study tours, pub get-togethers and seminars! So come along get involved, learn something and have fun!
A Day in the Life of...Young Planners in the North East
Joe is a Planning Consultant at George F White, a rural Surveying Firm. He is currently the Vice-chair of the RTPI North East Region and will progress to Chair in 2012. Undertaking the role has been very rewarding and has introduced him a great number of contacts which help him in his day-to-day job. He was also very privileged to be part of the Steering Group which organised the Young Planners' Conference when it was held in NewcastleGateshead.
