All subscriptions notices are sent by post to the contact address RTPI is holding for members. A date is given on the notice which will advise the member when a late payment charge (£25) will be added if the balance remains outstanding.
Renewal notices
RTPI's subscription year runs between 1 January and 31 December. Renewal notices are issue in late October/early November and come in two forms for:
-
Direct Debit payers
The notice will quote your forthcoming subscription fee, any arrears to be collected, collection dates, payment frequency and your bank account details (partialy masked). The collection dates are on or shortly after 1 January, April, July and October for quarterly paying members. Those paying just one instalment will have their subscription collected on or shortly after 1 January. There is no additional charge for paying quarterly.
If you make a trust fund donation or pay a subscription to Planning Theory & Practice journal by this payment method then this detail will be given.
-
Non-Direct Debit payers
This notice will show any unpaid subscription arrears, the forthcoming subscription fee, any overpayments from the previous year and the total to pay. The notice will also give the date on which a late payment charge (£25) will be added if the subscription is not paid by then. This is usually the last day of February.
Subscriptions are due on 1 January of the subscription year unless the member is paying quarterly, or the subscription notice indicates otherwise. A member can sign up to pay by direct debit by completing and sending the instruction form by post (faxes and email scans are not acceptable).
New members' subscription Notices
The member's first subscription notice will show a calculated subscription amount to pay, any payments made to date and the total to pay. The notice will give the date by which payment must be made before a late payment charge will be made on the member's account. This will usually be the end of the month, two months after the date of the invoice (e.g. if invoiced on 14 February, then the charge date is 30 April).
Obtaining a subscription notice with employer's address
A member may request for a notice to be re-issued with their employer's details on it. The employer's address will only be permanently recorded as the member's contact address if requested by the member. Otherwise the member will have to contact the RTPI each time for a revised notice.
Multiple subscription notices
An employer may request one notice to be sent for payment. The employer will need to provide a list to the Subscriptions Team, preferably by email. The Subscriptions Team will then create and send the subscription notice to the address given (this can be emailed). RTPI will not produce this subscription notice without a given list.
