Navin Sankersingh MRTPI
"The route from associate to chartered membership was challenging and rewarding. It served as a useful reflection on the significance of town planning in shaping and developing communities. Presently I am in the area of Broadband Delivery Programme Management where a background in town planning plays a critical role.
I wanted to attain professional membership of the RTPI in order to open many doors in the area of town planning in the UK and globally. My Master's degree in Planning from the University of the West Indies is a relatively new programme and is progressing to improve the planning stock in the Caribbean. Having one of its alumni in the RTPI would prove useful for future planning graduates."
Navin Sankersingh graduated from the University of the West Indies with a Masters degree in Planning and Development. He is currently leading the delivery of utility and broadband infrastructure at Milton Keynes Council, having previously worked as a Senior Planning Officer at a Special Delivery Vehicle for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, and a Development Control Officer at Town and Country Planning Division in Trinidad and Tobago. His special area of expertise is in the area of broadband infrastructure delivery from strategic matters to implementation which includes incorporating 'Next Generation Broadband' into the planning process.
