London Young Planners
The newly established RTPI London Young Planners Network holds regular events aimed specifically at chartered members, licentiates and student members under the age of 35. The network is run by a steering group which is part of the wider RTPI London committee, comprising Laura Smith (The Landscape Partnership), Sara Eustace (DTZ), Robyn Blackburn (Planning Potential) and Rebecca Beer (Urban Initiatives). Laura is the London Young Planners Representative and represents London on the Young Planners' Network advisory group. The steering group liaise with the national RTPI Young Planners' Network, update the London Young Planners webpage, provide updates in London Calling, contribute to RTPI News in Planning magazine and organise young planners’ events.
After a series of successful events this year, 2009 promises even more events aimed specifically at young planners to assist with CPD and provide networking opportunities. We want to repeat the successes of the Young Planners Quiz and the Licentiate event, which we held earlier this year. In addition we are currently organising a Seminar with a panel of young professionals to discuss the delivery of development in an uncertain economy. As soon as we have more details about these events we’ll let you know.
To be the first to hear about all London Young Planners events, be involved in event organisation and comment on issues relevant to young planners, such as the APC, please send your email address to Laura Smith. Alternatively, if you have any ideas for future events or would like to organise your own events then please get in touch.
