Planners are increasingly under pressure to assess the interaction between flood risk, water supply, diffuse pollution and urban development. In this context, the Natural Environment Research Council has funded a newCatchment Change Network (CCN) to bring together university scientists and a wide range of practitioners to consider the assessment of future change in river catchment systems. Network activities will include mapping of future research needs in collaboration with a wide variety of potential users, the development of best practice guides and a range of professional training opportunities.
