Planning for Growth - What can we Learn from Europe?

This conference was organised by the RTPI and UK ESPON Contact Point as part of the ESPON-INTERSTRAT project

London, 30 September 2011

This one-day conference brought together leading UK practitioners, policy makers and researchers to discuss what can be learnt from Europe about planning for growth.

Richard Summers, RTPI President 2011 and the Conference Chair, concluded that the event "achieved its aims of sharing research and experience across Europe to enrich spatial planning policies at the national, regional and local levels." He finished by explaining that "ESPON research provides a vital source of objective evidence to inform open, rational and balanced debate about different policy options in different situations to enable sustainable development across Europe."
