Skills for Producing Sustainable Places

Are built environment professionals 'members of a defective workforce awaiting re-skilling', or 'open-minded, enquiring professionals awaiting the opportunity to exercise these abilities in a working context'? These are among questions addressed by a research initiative on "Skills and Knowledge for Sustainable Communities" funded jointly by the ESRC and Homes and Communities Agency. Robert Rogerson and Sue Sadler at the University of Strathclyde have been drawing lessons from across the initiative and disseminating the findings.
