Three Rivers District CouncilThree Rivers District Council covers an area of 88.8 sq.km in south west Hertfordshire, of which over 70% is designated as Green Belt. It covers a high quality environment with 400 listed buildings and 24 conservation areas. The population comprises some 85,000 spread across 7 main settlements of which Rickmansworth is the largest. The Development Control Service deals with some 1,800 applications a year and works closely with the Development Plans and Transportation Service who are currently progressing the new Local Development Framework. Both sections are actively promoting sustainable development measures and hosted a Sustainability seminar attended by 80 delegates in June 2007.
