About the network

Development management (formally development control) is an important function within the planning profession. It represents the frontline of planning and employs many thousands of planners in both the public and private sectors.
The Development Management Network was launched in November 2006 and is an active and responsive network of members who exchange information, expertise and knowledge. Since its launch the Network has played an increasingly important role in advising and influencing Institute policy.
The Network is managed by Rhian Brimble, RTPI Network Manager. We also have a steering group that helps develop the Network.
