Tunbridge Wells Borough Council understands the importance of well-trained and motivated professional staff. In recognition of this membership, or working towards membership, of the RTPI is encouraged.

The Council is divided into three directorates: Services to the Community; Change and Business Support; and Planning and Development.

The Director of Planning and Development is part of the Management Board, which demonstrates the Council’s commitment to planning at the highest level

The Head of Planning Services reports to the Director and undertakes the Service level running of Development Control, Planning Policy, Planning Enforcement, Built and Natural Heritage and their associated administration functions.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT HIGHLIGHTS

• Encourages and supports post-graduate study to gain RTPI membership
• Encourages participation in RTPI activities both locally and nationally
