RTPI Learning Partner Guide for EmployersApplication for RTPI Learning Partner is a straightforward process, made through submitting written evidence to the RTPI. Through this evidence, employers must be able to demonstrate four key commitments -

I. Promoting Professional Development Activity

II. Identifying, Monitoring and Reviewing Professional Development Activity

III. Supporting Professional Development Activity

IV. Embracing Diversity and Equal Opportunities

Many organisations will already have excellent training and development policies and practice in place to be able to meet the standard, and must simply demonstrate this through submitting a range of different types of evidence. Suggestions of the types of evidence that can be submitted can be found in the RTPI Learning Partners Guide for Employers.

Other organisations who do not currently have sufficient policies and practices place may wish to use the available guidance to develop more supportive practices to be able to meet the standard. Other organisations still may be currently developing excellent new policies, but already meet the minimum threshold – such organisations are encouraged to consider Learning Partner status, as any changes and developments in their policies and practices can be reflected in the annual monitoring update of all Learning Partners (see Guide for Employers).

The RTPI Learning Partner application form, which appears in Appendix D of the guidance document, is also available to complete electronically: download the RTPI Learning Partner Application Form

Application Fees

The application fee for becoming an RTPI Learning Partner begins at only £250 for the smallest organisations and increases depending on the size of the organisation and the number of Chartered Planners employed. This one-off fee allows the organisation to promote itself as an RTPI Learning Partner (including use of the logo and inclusion in the online list of RTPI Learning Partners) for a period of five years, and includes processing of the initial application and the annual monitoring return.
