George Pepler International Award

The biennial George Pepler International Award is presented to individuals under the age of 30 who wish to undertake a short period of international study on a particular aspect of town and country planning. It is open to candidates living in the UK who wish to visit another country for study purposes, and also to individuals living abroad who wish to undertake study in the UK.

Candidates have to provide a statement describing the nature of the study that they are proposing to undertake, together with an itinerary. The award is not intended to provide finance for postgraduate studies or those working for a doctorate.

2006 awards

Two award winners were chosen in 2006: Carol Schulz of Blyth Valley Borough Council received an award for her proposal ‘Urban Design for Sustainability: Learning from Helsinki’; and Louise Duggan of CABE received an award for ‘Evaluating a successful public realm’.
