A regional Planning Aid Service active in our communities

Introduction to Review

Welcome to the third Annual Review of Planning Aid North. 2006has proved to be a very successful year for PAN with potentially15,624 members of our community directly benefiting from Advice and Support, Community Planning and Regional Innovation activities. We have organised or participated in 487 community events and 166

stakeholder events.

 

Advice and Support (Case Work)Our Advice and Support Service (Case Work) has increased by 29%.2,056 members of the community have potentially benefited from our Advice and Support Service. The number of “follow up” calls from clients looking for further advice on cases is also increasing. In addition, 2,166 people have received copies of our Advice and Planning Knowledge information sheets.

 

Community Planning

PAN has been extremely active in Community Planning during 2006and we have well surpassed our annual targets. 4,388 members of the community have benefited from 200 individual events. Our Community Awareness has increased by 110% and instead of achieving our annual target of 10 events, we have delivered 69. We have delivered 6 Client Training Events for 80 people (Annual target of events for 167 people). PAN has developed 11 new Community Planning Projects. Our annual target is 6 for the benefit of 294 people.16 of our projects have delivered 118 individual events for 2,545members of the community. We have delivered 7 individual Environmental Education Events for 343 schoolchildren (Annual target of 4 events for 198 schoolchildren).

 

Regional Innovations

1,891 members of County Durham communities have benefited from the Planning and Young People project. 6,607 members of local communities in the East and West Ends have benefited from the Newcastle Regeneration Community Support project. 682 young people in North Tyneside have benefited from the Community Planning Forums for Young People project.Further details of the projects can be found in our separate Project Annual Reviews. We anticipate that our service delivery will be further enhanced by these projects during 2007.
