Planning Gain Supplement consultation response
28-Feb-07
The RTPI has just issued a response to the Planning Gain Supplement consultations. We believe that the PGS proposals consulted on by government are essentially unworkable and should not be implemented. We have proposed options for possible investigation by government, including a development of the Milton Keynes Roof Tax approach. This is linked to new developments in Infrastructure Planning, derived in part from our research into Effective Practice in Spatial Planning (EPiSP). We have collaborated with Halliwells LLP law firm in drawing together the paper, which has enabled us to road test our response and possible options with reference to commercial taxation advice.
