    • EATIA - ESPON and Territorial Impact Assessment (TIA): European sector policies and directives – often together with their translation and implementation into national and regional policies – can have a severe impact on the territorial development and spatial development policies of countries and regions in Europe.  This project shall therefore test the practical use of existing methods and tools for TIA. Through both analytical work and an interactive learning track the project is expected to define possibilities for implementing TIA at national and sub-national level in EU Member States. The policymaking contexts of Portugal, Slovenia and the United Kingdom shall function as test areas.  The RTPI is assisting the ESPON UK Contact Point’s dissemination activities.  You may also be interested in the short update from the research team on 'Making the case for participatory TIA' and a related ESPON project - TIPTAP, which looked at building a TIA tool.
    • TPM: Territorial Performance Monitoring also a current ESPON project focusing on indicators for measuring regional consequences of climate change, energy supply, demographic development and globalisation; info’ on regional challenges not currently recognised at European level.  Inception report available; Final report due 31 May 2012.
