RTPI Planning Awards

01-Apr-08

ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED FOR THE 2008 PLANNING AWARDS.

The judges have now identified 35 entries for the short-list and everyone will be notified in the next few weeks.

Site visits and/or presentations will take place from June to October and we hope to give as much notice as possible when these are likely to happen.

Where appropriate, entries will be forwarded to each Region of the RTPI towards the end of May for inclusion in their own Regional awards schemes.   This does not apply to entries from Scotland or London who have their own awards schemes.

These awards will be presented at the London Hilton on Thursday 5th February 2009.

Any queries on this or any other awards please contact the RTPI Awards office on 020 7929 9473 or email: awards@rtpi.org.uk

These premier awards, which have been running since 1978, are for outstanding group achievement in town and country planning and celebrate the planning professions' contribution to the quality of life throughout the British Isles and Ireland.   The awards recognise the diversity of planning achievement, whether in urban or rural areas, whether large or small in scale, whether involving new development or regeneration and whether promoted by the public, private or community sectors.   The awards look beyond purely physical outcomes to recognise innovative plans, processes, techniques, information systems, programmes of community involvement and improvements to public services.

Most  RTPI Regions have been running their own Regional award schemes;  for information please go to the appropriate Regional website.
