2009 Award Winners
The awards presentation for the RTPI Planning Awards 2009 took place on Thursday 4 February 2010 at the London Hilton, in a ceremony attended by Ann Skippers, President of the RTPI and Bob Neill MP, Shadow Minister for Local Government and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party.
Congratulations to all the winners, in particular the Victoria Square Regeneration Project, Belfast - winner of the Silver Jubilee Cup, the planning world's top accolade for excellent planning.

In their report the judges said "It has been a fascinating year for the judging panel as we tackled the difficult, but immensely enjoyable task of identifying quality planning achievement. Planning and planners are too often criticised and too rarely praised. The RTPI Awards give us the opportunity to put that right".
The President's Special Award for Planning Achievement was awarded to the active members and volunteers of the RTPI.

The Royal Town Planning Institute established its awards for Planning Achievement in 1977. The purpose was twofold: to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne; and to throw a public spotlight on the positive achievements of the planning profession. The premier award is the Silver Jubilee Cup which is held by the winning group for one year. These awards are run in association with Planning.
