Call to Planning Schools: Disseminating research to planners

30-Jul-10

MegaphoneRTPI Research and RTPI Education are joining efforts to disseminate research from the RTPI accredited planning schools to planners. This is the reason why we have launched this call. We need your help.

We do much of this dissemination work through the Planning Education and Research Network (PERN). PERN has a mailing list of over 200 members which includes key members of the UK Government and devolved administrations, and practitioners at the local and regional levels.

An example of what are we searching for

The University of Glasgow, for instance, has created a page in which all research projects undertaken or underway in Urban Studies since the start of 2008 are listed. There are links to details of individual projects. This is just an example of what we are looking for.

Getting in touch

If you have information about the research projects undertaken or underway by your department, please send it to research@rtpi.org.uk. The information you send to us will be displayed on the Planning Education pages and also in the PERN bulletin.

Your contribution will be of great value to thousands of planners that are interested in planning education and research.

Acknowledgement

Thanks to the following Planning Schools for their contribution which will soon be available on the RTPI website: University of the West of England, University of Glasgow, Newcastle University and University College London.
