Six figure package to be negotiated

London, EC3

Spatial planning within the UK and internationally has never been more important. The RTPI is evolving to meet new and growing challenges. We are developing our membership base and adapting our organisational capacity to ensure that we are best placed to tackle some of the most serious national and global challenges that we have faced for a generation.

Through policy innovation, partnership, lobbying, advocacy and inspirational leadership, we ensure that spatial planning is at the forefront in providing strategic policy, development management and practical solutions.

As part of this evolution, we are looking for a Chief Executive who will provide strategic leadership to the Institute, nationally and internationally. You will work with, and support, the Trustees and the President, and provide the direction and effective operation of the professional and charitable body that supports the development and delivery of planning policy and practice in the UK and abroad.

You will be an effective communicator, providing vision and leadership, and support the work of the Board of Trustees. You will have a good understanding of planning or expertise in a related discipline but what will be most critical will be your ability to influence those at the highest levels of government and business, whilst securing the buy-in of the planning community at large.

Your ambassadorial qualities will be unquestionable. Your stakeholder management, influencing and campaigning skills and your ability to shape and lead debates in spatial planning will be exceptional.

So seize the opportunity to take the RTPI forward into a new era. Job share and secondment options may be considered.

To arrange an informal discussion about the position with Ann Skippers, RTPI President, please contact Lesley Mitchell on 020 7929 9461.
