RTPI secures £775,000 funding from Europe for work on integrated development strategies

2010 Planning Research Conference
RTPI President Ann Skippers addressed the opening plenary session of this year’s UK and Ireland Planning Research Conference on 7 April. Her speech is posted on her regular presidential blog – she looks forward to your comments.
Geraint Ellis of Queens University Belfast led a roundtable session at the conference on preliminary findings from his study of the UK planning academy. The study is fast approaching completion. Making the Case for the Social Sciences - Call for Assistance and Further Material
The Academy of Social Sciences are currently preparing further titles in the successful and well-received Making the Case for the Social Sciences series of booklets that are being produced in conjunction with the ESRC. Young Academics invited to publish in Progress in Planning
Progress in Planning is a leading journal publishing research monographs. Expressions of interest in publishing with the journal are welcomed, particularly from young academics and those who have just completed their PhDs. There are no preferred themes; it just needs to be recent research on a planning topic. History of urban climatology – a request
In the context of a research project on the history of urban climatology as applied in town planning, an RTPI member is seeking to trace involvement of British town planners from 1950 onwards with the World Meteorological Organisation and the World Health Organisation, possibly through the International Federation for Housing and Planning (IFHP) and other professional networks. Sustainable Regeneration – from evidence-based urban futures to implementation
Urban Futures is a four year research project which started in May 2008, funded by the EPSRC. The project consortium is led by the University of Birmingham and includes the University of Exeter, Lancaster University and Birmingham City University.
