Planning with communities
Planning within diverse communities presents many challenges. Spatial planning affects everyone. It is right therefore that planners should engage with communities and this is often uncomfortable; uncomfortable for planners who have to assimilate what they hear, and uncomfortable for community members faced with new jargon and systems for plan-making. The Planning with Communities Network can’t remove the discomfort but it can help all the participants to engage more productively.
Planning Aid Community Planners
You may not be aware that most of the Planning Aid services across the UK offer the services of community planners to assist local voluntary and community groups to play a full part in local planning and the issues that arise. Please visit the Planning Aid website where there are links to the Scottish, Welsh, London and UK Regions' services.
