RTPI Urban Design Network Award 2010

Excellence in Delivery – Recognising Good Practice

 

Network members are invited to submit their entries for the 2010 RTPI Urban Design Network Award.

Projects should be distinctive, innovative, informative and inspiring, and judging will consider:

Design quality: How the submission has applied urban design principles to create a quality place or places that conserve, enhance and strengthen the context, local identity and culture of their setting

Environmental performance: How the submission adapts to, or mitigates the threats posed by climate change (please refer to the RTPI’s seven commitments on climate change – see RTPI 7CCC)

Social performance: How the submission has actively contributed to community enhancement, by increasing the sense of community and social interaction, and by strengthening the self-image and identity of the people who use it; how the submission demonstrates breadth and strength of partnership-working in securing a high quality and sustainable environment;

Economic performance: How the submission has actively contributed to the economic growth/regeneration of the area.

Submissions are welcomed from any member of the RTPI Urban Design Network. Group applications are welcome but ALL applicants must be a member of the Network. If you would like to apply but are not yet a member of the Network, please click here to join.

The closing date for entries is: 30 April 2010

Entries will be judged by members of the Urban Design Network Advisory Group and the Network Manager.The winner will be notified by the end of May 2010. 

The winner will be offered an opportunity to showcase their winning entry to RTPI members at a Network event and will be advertised on the RTPI website.
