Thanks to Volunteers

RTPI NE Member and Public Relations Officer Chris Clarke was invited to London last week, to attend the RTPI’s Awards Lunch, and help collect the President’s Special Award. Each year the RTPI President has complete discretion to make a Special Award of his or her own choice, and 2009 President Martin Willey decided to take the opportunity to recognise the “Active Members and Volunteers of the RTPI”.

Having helped chauffeur Martin around the North East during his Presidential visit, Chris was picked to collect the Special Award, along with four other individuals picked to recognise various types of voluntary contribution to the RTPI.

Said Chris: “This was not a personal award to me, but a welcome recognition of the work of thousands of RTPI members and students who give so much to the RTPI by virtue of their voluntary time and effort.”
