The RTPI's acting Director of Policy and Partnerships, Matt Thomson, was featured on the popular The One Show – the topical magazine-style television programme, which has an audience of several millions – and broadcast on Tuesday, January 12.†

Hosted by Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley in the studio, Dan Snow looks back at Britain's snowy past in a short feature on the problems caused by the current extreme weather, with comments from the RTPI.

A BBC camera crew filmed in the RTPI’s London offices in Botolph Lane the day before.†

Matt, who is usually smartly suited, was persuaded by the RTPI press team to remove his jacket and tie – †to represent the more casual look of the modern planner for the TV documentary, which also gave our Communications Manager, Jamie Hodge, a brief on screen appearance – his five seconds of fame.

The One Show is broadcast live on BBC One on weeknights at 7pm.
