The Ministry of Employment and the Economy of Finland, ESPON MC Member, has commissioned the report “ESPON in the North”, which has been published on October 2009.

The report includes nine articles (written by, among others, Heikki Eskelinen, Matti Fritsch, Timo Hirvonen), which discuss different dimensions of regional development in Finland. The debate on European spatial planning and research on northern areas serves as an overarching framework and brings together the various articles.
