Key points which you might like to make:
• The Scottish Funding Council’s proposal to cut funding for planning and architecture education in Scotland by 22% completely fails to take account of the key importance that the built environment plays in reducing carbon emissions, promoting economic growth and making Scotland’s towns and cities better places to live.
• The proposed cut of £1415 per full time equivalent student per year is likely to lead to the end of planning education in Scotland as we know it.
• This would completely undermine the Government’s own strategic objectives which planners are at the heart of delivering
• It would send out the completely wrong message at a time when we need to be investing in skills, training and development and encouraging a new generation of Scottish trained planners
Spending a few minutes on this will show that there are individuals across the country who care about their profession and the future of planning in Scotland, and will greatly help make the case to protect planning education from cuts.
- Please ensure you include your HOME ADDRESS in your email - this is very important when writing to MSPs
Thank you for your time and support for the planning profession.
