Licentiate Member

09-Jan-07

Graduates of RTPI-accredited courses who are now in professional spatial planning employment and would like to work towards Chartered Membership through the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) route must become Licentiate Members of the Institute. Licentiate membership is a mandatory part of the APC, and graduates who wish to apply for Chartered Membership must have been Licentiate Members registered on the APC for at least one year before becoming eligible to apply for Chartered Membership.

Licentiate Membership was introduced in 2005 together with the APC to provide new graduates with a greater level of support from the RTPI in the early stages of their professional career. All candidates for Chartered Membership graduating with RTPI-accredited qualifications from 2006 onwards (or, for graduates on one-year Masters qualifications, from 2005 onwards) must apply for Licentiate Membership before undertaking their structured post-qualification professional experience.

For further information contact apc@rtpi.org.uk or visit the APC pages.
